Same here Claude. The Boys always wanted hot dogs or chilli. Don't get me wrong, I have ate my share on those campouts. However, The leaders started changing their meals as we would become a patrol ourselves and then we would vote on what meal or meals we would cook on our next campouts just like the boys did.

However, when the boys were eating their hotdogs or chilli or both, We had steaks, baked potatoes or pizzas. Rolls, or biscuits, fried tators, Peach, cherry, or apple pies.
Mud around the potatoes covered with coals, dutch oven pies, biscuits or rolls. Yummm Yum.
It wasn't very long till the boys wanted to be included and then it was very seldom, we had the hot dogs or chilli at camp outs.
Ornges cut in half and the insides scooped out and a white cake mix in it, then tin foiled and cooked on an open fire. Yummmm Yum.
Now here is another good one the boys like is no potatoe potato salad. It uses everything in that you would normally use in potatoe salad except eliminate the potatoes and use crushed up crackers. You would be suprized.
Mayo doesn't last in the campout environment so use Salad Dressing. Just leave it in the jar till ready to use. Will last several days.
However, Thos ewho has cooked with Dutch Ovens and open fire knows to watch it closely. Nothing like eating burnt food to dampera campout. Don't ask!

Thanks Kenny, I needed that <Grin>

I've been holding off on this...to see what everyone wanted. I'm not sure a specific area on a carving board should be devoted to recipes...

I'd prefer to just see posts like "Paul's Sourdough Recipe" in the OT section... I'm really not comfortable starting a specific section for recipes...I'm already getting complaints about how many topics we have...

Yep Bob, good call and thank you for all the work you do for us and keeping us straight.
We or maybe just me take for granted, all of the background work you and your staff do for us. I for one appreciate your hard work.
