Default Message Bd. Centered on Monitor

Is there a way to center the message format in its entirity on the screen so that its always centered when opened? Almost every time I click to open a message I have to drag the bar at the bottom of the screen to center the message so I can read the far right hand side. Not a big deal but it sure gets tiresome doing it as I read most of the posts daily. The advertisements on both sides of the screen are I'm sure important and necessary but if I had a choice to make them smaller I'm sure the message letter could easily fit.

I'm having a similar problem that I don't think used to be a problem. It may be a resolution issue. What it is your resolution set at? Mine is 1280 x 1024 at work and 1024 x 768 at home. The problem is much worse at home.

Perhaps the code for the message board is not resizing based on monitor like it used to....?

I thought it was a setting on my 17" monitor at home. Work is 19" so I don't notice it there. But it is a pain to slide the message over to the center every time you open one.

Mike is correct - try setting your resolution to a higher setting.

Mine is on the highest setting and everything fits on the screen. One drawback is that everything will be smaller.

Lynn,
save your self some bucks and go get the bigscreen from the den and hook it up on the computer.. hahaha

I use firefox as a browser, IE7 upgraded its self right out of here and got too slow. and with a 2.8 gig processor that shouldnt have happened.

fire fox handles graphics a little differently if somebody posts a large picture in a post it knocks the screen format out of whack.
my 17" monitor is set to 1024x768 at 32 colors, and i have a 2 inch clear border around the message window, and if the screen fonts too little i just push control + and it gets bigger....

Yesh! You all tryin to give an old guy a head ache? All this tech talk. To me it's still all just plain magic. I put a quarter in the slot and get 2 minutes. When the 2 minutes are up the operator come on and tells me to add more.... Tom H

It seems the main message board page is set at 1006 x 768 resolution. The most commonly used resolution is 1024 x 768. 1006 x 768 makes the layout larger so you have to scroll. If you go to Control Panel - Display - Settings you can change your resolution there and won't have to scroll. The higher the resolution the smaller everything else is, the page and content.

Nancy, Thanks for the info. I just changed my settings up to 1024 x 768, but when click on "new posts" must still scroll to get it all. Not a problem though. Its just one more thing I've learned....Tom H

Glad you gave directions to this. You are definitly right. The printing is about 1/2 size. Going to try getting used to it thou. Scrolling everytime is a pain.
Thanks.
Thomp,
I tried the control + and that helps a lot.
Thanks

I suppose if I knew it all I couldn't claim "I learn something every day".
