HEY! bob D, Admin somebody!

I just got 89 LinkBack emails dumped into my email account by the board...

is this something new or is the board fixing to give out?

Same thing is happening to me. I like to have linkbacks; but, only as they were before not everytime there is a response on every thread where I have posted. Hopefully, someone is working on the system and it will all get straigthened out.

i see admin is in the control pannel may be they was the ones that pulled the trigger that flushed the linkbacks out...
but this thing got to hollering you got mail, you got mail, you got mail.,... i thought i got a bug...haha

I got several and one was quite interesting - at least to me.

I had gone to the UserCP and changed my screen name and nothing happened and I put a question about that function. Well, the linkback took me to a reply to the same question by someone else back in 2004. The admin person said they would look at making it work, but in the meantime if you wanted to change your screen name send them an email request.

Guess they ain't got it working yet.

Who do I send the request to?

I think you have it checked where you receive notification of a post to a thread you have either posted to or looked at...uncheck that and you should be ok. Its called the "default subscription code" under your user CP options, click on "do not subscribe"!

After reading almost all the linkback messages i received it is what im subscribed to mostly that i can remember,

being a mod i subscribe when i see a possibility of a skirmish or a spammer starting,
and recently i went to all forums and subscribed to all the subjects,
previously i had over 300 subscriptions before i unscribed , so im glad this didn't happen 2 weeks ago,

still no word from admin about what happened,
hope it was just some one at the admin control panel that turned on a one time thing to see the results, out of curiosity....
