Hi to all, I need help. I have a wolf brand jigsaw and are unable to get wood cutting blades for it . The saw has these markings:- wolf ser 187a type 6528 w360 H300/L2400/MIN A16 I have tried to get blades to suit but the fitting is all wrong the blades slide up in a groove and is held in place by a grub screw tightened from the front. All the blade types I have tried twist to the left or right when the grub screw is tightened. I hope all this information is enough to get a response as I do not want to throw it out it is to good for this. Await any response greatfully received. Yours Wuzatrewunce |

maybe you could try the spiral twist blades as they are flat to the front and being spiral, doesn't matter how they go into the chuck...

Would it be possible to take pliers and twist the blade on the top to fit and have the cutting edge straight

Before you tighten the blade is it real loose in the chuck? Almost sounds like it takes a thicker blade then the newer saws? Maybe some pictures would help? Dave |

if the blades go into a slot back- front it may be that the slots is wore causing it not to tighten up, if the slots are bigger then about 1/16 wide a/ take a wider blade theres not a whole lot that can be done unless use 2 -4 blade tops to fill the space if the 1/4in. deep blade will tighten, square stock may hold the blade straight little pcs. of foam back, front will hold it up in there till tighten

First, try oww.com, old wood working machines. You should be able to get some information there I assume that you got the machine used. Someone may have assembled it wrong. Take a good look at the chuck that holds the blade end, I never seen one that tightens from the front or back. It may be put together wrong. It could be that the piston that goes up and down needs to be turned 90* so the tightening screw is on one side. Also the jaws that make up the gripping part of the blade holder are usually tapered in such a way that the blade will go in easier. I have an old Delta Rockwell that I had a dickens of a time with till I found a diagram at the site I mention above. When I got the jaws assembled right it grabs the blade just fine. Some of these old machines are great. Good Luck! Ed |

dryheat i have a black-decker a/ it tighten from the front it has a collet on the shaft not real such how its on therebut it has a pc. that goes on the frontthats [u] shaped w/ a slot for the blades the ends of the [u] has little ears that fit over the collet one that i had before had the problem that it wore the slot a/ the blade would fall out i had to file the [u] down a little so it would be closer to tighten the blade up so it would stay in it sounds like thats the same problem hes having unless the slot is way to wide for the 1/8in. blades in that case he may have to get a new collet most i have run into the shaft is 3/8 [d] shape that has a set screw to hold it on in the back of the collet on the shaft[wuzrtrea]if u can't find 1 that fits take the old 1 off a/ go to a[lowes] type store a/ see if it can be matched up ...
