Default Gallery Viewing?

First, I know I am new here - and PLEASE don't think I am a complainer.

But, does anyone else find it bothersome when viewing a members gallery and you select NEXT picture - you have to go over to the scroll bar at the right and scroll down for every picture? Seems like you should be able to just click NEXT and view the pictures without scrolling for each and every picture. Tend to stop looking at the wonderful work members have done!

Just a suggestion - I think it would improve the site - my opinion!

UPDATE:
As I view more and more of this site, I noticed the same is true for virtually every page - click on something and immediately have to move mouse to the right scroll bar to view the page. I think the problem is the banners at the top of the pages are WAY TOO BIG - if you go into a forum and a topic - you cannot even see the thread unless you scroll - not very user friendly!

An easy solution to that is to get a "three button" mouse that has a scroll wheel on it. I have a Logitech one that cost $25. Made for a PC, but works equally well on my Mac. A flip of the wheel and the page scrolls up, down, or sideways, depending on how you rotate/tilt the wheel.

So Claude, you holding stock in Logitech? (Just joking!!!) I have one of those as well, mine was free. My brother-in-law got mad (it's battery operated) went back to a corded one and gave me this one.

The galleries are still troublesome. Seems that they could make the gallery pictures open just like the pictures on the board. That way just click next until you have seen them all or get tired.

Sure would be an improvement as far as I am concerned. Although I think they have said in the past it is what it is and nothing can be done to fix it. That's one reason I stay out of the galleries, except for once in a while.

Yes, why do the Sections of this site appear across the top AND on the left sidebar. We have to scroll down just to click Forum. I can find no way to display another carver's photos in a form similar to "My Photos." In fact, I can't find any way to display ALL of another carver's photos.

It can be done, but it ain't easy.....

Select Carvers Galleries...
Scroll down to Members Galleries.....
There is an alphabetical listing, Select a letter (the persons pics you want to see) Have to know their UserID....
Select the person.....
Then select Photos.....

WaLaaa there they are!!!!!!! Just the photos of the person selected.

Simple, huh, yep simple. It's only 6 steps. And just think, if you forget their UserID ya gotta back up and start again. Lovely, just lovely.

So Copy this and Paste it somewhere where you can refer back to it. That's what I did. Then after doing it a Kazillion times it will become second nature.

Good luck.

Wow, how ironic. I was just doing a slideshow in the Galleries today and thought it must just be me, I had to scroll down for each picture.

Don't know if it is fixable or not but I would imagine the Gallery gets a ton of traffic. Fixing the glitch would be great.

This is a commercial forum format as I've seen the same thing at a number of different sites. There are lots of things that have been suggested to improve a members ease of using it but for some reason they never seem to get acted upon. Years ago I suggested that access to a members gallery be allowed through their name which accompanies each post or comment. Wouldn't it be great if by clicking on their name a new window would open showing their carvings? You can see my profile, send me a message, visit my homepage or add me as a contact but you can't see my carvings. Sure, I could put a direct link to my Gallery carvings but why not just make this part of the big picture?

Lynn, I remember when you suggseted that. It has been thrown around several times since then. I think when you suggested the reason was - "we are going to a new program and it is not cost effective". Now the excuse is "the two systems do not play well together".

Why have two different systems, especially if they don't work well together. I say get something that does work well together. I mean it's only a link for goodness sake. I think the entire internet works from links.

Oh well, my 2 cents worth...Complaining about it ain't gonna fix it and it doesn't appear that WCI is either.
