Hi, I carve faces on hiking sticks and canes. I'm not satisfied with the eyes. Any suggestions on doing eyes? n8eys (my amateur call sign), Jim the Easy Bleeder |

Check out the "Woodcarving Tutorials" on this site. Irishman has an excellent one called "A different approach to eyes". This tutorial is very informative for both, the beginner and the seasoned carver.

The gentleman that just referred you to my tutorial is being modest as I use Mark's eye carving technique...especially when I do small carvings. If your doing large one's I do find the technique illustrated in the tutorial helpful when your just starting...especially for log carvings. I use three different techniques now so go with what works for you. Patrick |
