Today I can see a little clearer. We had a woodcarving show last weekend, when I finally got home I was up all night sharpening tools, the next day at work was not good at all. When I woke up the next day, the first thing I did was log on to see the advertising post which I thought was about my business. Sometimes I make mistakes in judgement; this was one of those times. Your friendship overwhelms me. Sorry, Rick Last edited by rick-in-seattle; 04-27-2005 at 07:06 PM. |

Sounds like you said it, very well indeed, and I'm more than happy to hear it!! And I know without a shadow of a doubt everyone else is happy to hear it too! You are much too valuable a member to get away from us without a fight...we all know where to find you! I just checked in here to see what the latest developments were because I had started a letter to mail to your home e-mail address....just in case you weren't reading the ones on here. I'm sure glad to hear you were and you realize no way was anyone talking bad about you...I can't even imagine such a thing...you've been nothing but supportive and helpful to all of us. We'd be pretty lost without you Rick! Welcome back! Callynne

Good then it's settled and you'll stay. I did a little carving today and I was a little upset. I learn a lot from your sight (and you sell sharp toolsWink ).

Welcome home Rick. We all have days like that, but I have found that our friends in this "family", help make each day a bit brighter and easier to get through. Thank you for staying.Bob

Man, you said it already!!! Glad you read the posts. The worst thing you can do to me is accuse me of something that I didn't do. So I kinda understand what happened due to mis-information. True friends give you the right scoop. No need to appologize. Just glad your back!!!!! Bill K.

Ahhhhh.......everything is as it should be - again ![]() Told you that we'd see you around. Unfortunately, I was out of town this weekend also and don't really know what happened exactly. I did not put your "departure" and the so-called advertising thread together until now. I thought you were really just taking a break. I'm just catching up. That being said, you are too valuable a resource to not be a part of this forum. |

First, let me say that I haven't posted in quite a while. Just been a lurker, but this required a response! But I saw Rick's previous post & felt a big loss. I have never met Rick, but have purchased several tools from him. A finer business man you'll never meet. Especially when it comes to quality of work and Customer Service!!! We are glad to have you with us Rick. You do so much to provide insight into the history of carving, provide phylosifical (ms) threads and tips/techniques. As far as advertising, I have never heard you advertise your site, but you have offered other companies sites instead of your own. You don't have to advertise here, everyone else who has ever delt with you will gladly do it for you. They/we like to pass on good bargins/service to others that request it. You Earned that patronage!! Jim ps: I saw the original ad post & was disgusted by it. It wasted my time and I whole-heartedly agree with BobD - It appeared to be someone from the outside (not a regular on this site). I don't think a regular member (who appreciated the board) would have posted something so impersonal and with such a single self-centered goal.

Glad to hear you're staying! Your contributions to this website, and your great talents in improving our abilities to carve should give you reason to take great pride. So, if you have an off day, have a lot on your mind, or are just plain overwhelmed with the business, take a break and we'll see you on a better day. But don't stay away too long--or we'll all be Sleeping BTW--As soon as I get over this stubborn streak of trying to make my own tools, I'll be giving you a call! I'm not sure where I heard it, but I heard your a good man to do business with.Happy Take care, Bob Langan
