Default How Do I Set Up a Gallery?

I have been a member here for 3 or 4 years. I've been carving mostly for 8 months or so so I'm starting to come here much more often.

I would like to set up a gallery and I assume that is under the link Carver Galleries in the left hand column. When I click that link I see another page and up near the top is a link that says My Albums and when I click in that it goes to another page and there is a link that says Create a New Album.. Is that where you create a Gallery?

What size do I make my pictures before uploading?

Does the forum create the thumbs?

Can you have multiple albums? I noticed a place for the album title.

I looked for directions on how to do this and didn't see any. I don't want to be a bother. The other thing that confused me is they use two different words gallery and album. Are they the same?

If you know where the directions on how to do this a link would be great. As I said I don't want to be a bother.

Thanks

Actually, you get a gallery automatically when you sign up as a member of the forum. Yours is here: My First Green Man - Woodcarving Illustrated Photo Gallery

Within your gallery, you can post photos, or you can create albums within the gallery to organize your photos (one for green men, one for santas, etc.) if you choose to do so.

Photos can be almost any size in the galleries, unlike posting in a message where they are limited to 580 pixels high by 780 pixels wide, or smaller. A good size is probably the same as the message posting size or maybe up to 1024 by 768 pixels (W x H). You don't want to make it so big that people have to scroll around to see it all.

The forum creates the thumbnail photos.

Hopefully, this answers all your questions; if not ask again for more details.

Claude
