Good idea but I can see there may be a lot of Debate on the Debate thread. Bob I dont know what the answer is I guess lets try it and see what happens. I have said it before as long as it has to do with woodcarving and not politics and religion and I am all for it. Colin

Good idea Bob. The "debate" label should say it all to most posters. If you don't want to get involved, don't. If you do, expect a reasonable debate. I ask Bob and our moderators to watch for posters who get fed-up or frustrated and start calling for an end to a thread. Please send a personal message to those folks and remind them they can simply ignore the thread if they don't like it. Calling for an end to a thread is a lot like censorship, and I think that has raised the emotions of some in these contraversial threads.

mdaqllensr... You have a good point except when the debaters get way out of hand and then not only is nothing of value being accomplished but it really takes away from the credibility of the forum as a whole. In the past BobD has shut down a thread to give time for cooler heads to prevail. I aplaud him for his actions and recommend that he continue to do so as conditions warrant....ahh.... in my personal opinion of course!
