Question Creating an avatar

How do you create an avatar ?
Also, how do you put a quote on the bottom of your posts to show in each one ?
Sorry for all these questions but am new to forums and how they work.

hi fred, for such problems you can always click the FAQ button top left, and there you will find all answers.. but make it easier for now here are the answers to your specific questions :
the avatar, you can put by clicking first usercp (top left of screen) then edit avatar, you get a new screen, where you can either choose an avatar from a given list, or upload an own image (size is 80x80 pixel)... signature line is similar : first click usercp, then edit signature, then type what you want to appear there, and you can click preview button to see if it looks like you want,,,

You'll need some sort of photo-editing software for you computer. If you read the FAQ, it provides some links to software you can download for free that works on a PC. If you have a Mac, iPhoto is built in and will easily change the size of a photo. 640 x 480 means 640 pixels by 480 pixels, so you'll need to crop/shrink the photo down to 80 x 80. The normal resolution on most computers is around 75 pixels per inch, so your 640 x 480 image shows up on your screen about 8 inches by 6 inches. This means that there are 75 little dots on your screen in each inch. So in one square inch there are 75 x 75 dots, or pixels, (5625 total) that can all have different colors - that makes up the images you see.

For quote, go to your control panel - "UserCP" that can be reached by the link along the top bar. Once there, go to the Edit Signature option and enter what you want to be seen.
