We'll be installing a classified ads section that is separate from the main forum, kind of like the Carvers Gallery section. So, a person will have to choose to go to the classifieds section (like you choose to go to the gallery). Classifieds will not show up as regular posts.

No ads on this site--I rather it be a resource site rather than a retail site.

Put your advertisement for what you're selling on Craigslist--it's free to do so. And then post a note on this website with a link to your ad. It doesn't cost you anything.

Ummm...Bob...it's already a retail site...

Anyway, we've already installed it on the SSWC site. There will be a button in the left column (under Carving Community) that says "Classifieds". The only way to get to the section will be by clicking that link (or by clicking a link posted by another member). It looks like the following.

Main Index - Scroll Saw Woodworking & Crafts Classifieds

Yes, Bob I know it's a retail site.

I should have said that I would rather the FORUM be a place dedicated to providing a resource of information, help, etc. for wood carvers. BTW--I was typing my psot as you were posting yours. Maybe I should have jsut deleted mine. Anyway...the ad site sounds good.

It's a free add-on with the new software, so we thought we'd see how it worked. You can see on the SSWC site that it's not been extremely popular. Who knows how it will work out...

Just another service we're trying to provide. Plus that keeps members here on our site instead of sending them to Craigslist <GRIN>

I think like if BobD said it is a separate area then I have no problem with it as long as it don't clog up the forum with ads. I myself cannot navigate around ebay and craigs list. There are too many things to fill in and check that my screen reader will not pick up so this will be helpful to me when I want to get rid of excess tools etc or am looking for tools. Also it would be very heplful when you do post tools etc for sale give a good description of the items.
