i'm in agreement with most other no classified ads thread.
i have a feeling that it would take over the board.

That's my feelings...If a regular member who posts a lot wants to mention some tools or wood, etc. they have for sale, I don't have a problem, but...if someone new jumps on the board and their first post is "I've got xx for sale..." I'll ask them to remove it.

To be honest, though...when I heard that Goody is looking to get rid of extra tools, I was quick to PM him <grin>

Bob, was that to ask him to remove his post or to get his tools? :>)

Asking about the tools, of course <grin>
Now if someone's first post was "I've got tools for sale"...that's different!

I'm in favor of no ads, but if someone ocasionally mentions that they're looking for something. I don't think it would hurt.
I had that experience earlier this year. Someone was looking for a duplicarver, & I happened to have one that I never used anymore, & was collecting dust in my shop. It gave me incentive to get rid of it. I private messaged that person, & it went to the hands of someone who would use it.
