Default Can't stay logged in.

Help, please! This site keeps logging me out when I'm in the middle of reading posts about different topics. I'm logged in, then I click to go to another page or topic, and suddenly, I'm no longer logged in. What's happening? (It's already happened to me twice during this afternoon's attempt to catch up on things.)

Beth, clear out your internet cache and cookies. It sounds like you have a corrupt cookie.

Thanks, Bob. That seems to have fixed the problem. I've now been logged in at least an hour and a half with no problems. It's amazing how time flies when you're having fun! Beth

I'm still having problems from time to time staying logged in. I can't believe I'm just getting corrupted cookies that often. I did not have the problem before you changed to your new web design. Is there something I need to change on my computer configuration or such to let an older computer continue to use your website efficiently? Or maybe some program I need to update that I've neglected to update?

Thanks for any help you can give me.

Beth

Beth,

Can you visit this page:

http://www.woodcarvingillustrated.com/ip/

Copy and paste the results from it here. It will let me know what browser/version you are using, with that I can offer some suggestions.

I have to re-iterate what Bob had suggested. Clear your browser's cookies and cache as suggested here:

Clear Your Browser's Cache - wikiHow

Then try to login again here. Make sure to click the "Remember Me" checkbox on the login box.

If the problem persists, try another browser to see if it is possibly some browser settings. Firefox or Chrome are good test subjects. If you still have the problem with one of them, then it might be some other software installed on your computer causing this. Some security software will filter cookies, usually anti-malware software, but sometimes firewalls or something similar. If that's the case you might need to go into its configuration and make some small changes.

Hugh-p have you tried the steps outlined above? I test in Chrome, but I don't use it regularly so I've not tried it for extended periods for issues like this.

Thanks, guys. I guess I didn't have all of the cookies cleared when I thought I did the first time. After following the directions in the wikiHow site you referred me to, things have been working fine. Sorry I didn't get back to you right away. Appreciate all the help.
