Default Bug in thread browser?

Shouldn't this thread

A Beginners Tutorial On Carving A Simple Hillbilly Out Of A Block Of Wood

be between theses 2 series of threads?

Wood Carving Tutorials - Page 7 - Woodcarving Illustrated Message Board

Wood Carving Tutorials - Page 8 - Woodcarving Illustrated Message Board

Many months are missing in there between the two when browsing.

But the first thread should be in there???

I re-re-checked it again, and it doesn't seem to work as logickly as I thought, ie by date only.

I was trying to fing a nessage by date and the search doesn't seem to work in a user friendly way...

The threads displayed in your page 7 and page 8 list the date of the last post to the thread, not the date the thread started. If someone posts to an old thread, it "disappears" because the last person to post to it has caused the date to change.

If you pull down Search on the green bar and select Advanced Search, you get a new window. In the new window, you can search using keywords or User Name. In the search options, the defaults for the first two categories are ok, but the pull down for the third option default is last posting date. You can change this to thread start date, and make it easier to find a specific thread.

Thanks Claude, you are right about the date option...

I'll search differently now.
