| | Re: angry You can get taken from being a buyer or seller on Ebay. Seems like the majority of people are on the up-and-up though (otherwise, Ebay would have died out a long time ago!) That's one of the risks of Ebay unfortunately, but you know, I've gotten taken from other places too, stores who sell broken merchandise and won't refund your money, utility companies that you give the run-around, video stores that charge you late fees even though you were never late....the list goes on and on. As Hi Ho pointed out, there are dirtbags everywhere and we just gotta be on our toes. |

| | Re: angry Well -- (especially for Carolina Carver but including everyone) - I've been a very active buying member of eBay for 7 years now. I have over 300 membership numbers that show and many more that dont
I saying that, not to brag, but that I've bought a LOT of stuff I love, from a nice lily plant to a great, expensive, hand carved bird (some shown in WCI). I've never once, not once, had a bad experience. I've met many great, fine people that I keep a close, personal contact with now. I don't cross a road without being careful and then I enjoy the trip.
IMO eBay is fantastic.
P.S. Carolina Carver, please, pretty please tell me your sellers name or the number of what's going on now. Thanks |

| | Re: angry I too use Ebay quite a bit. Mostly to buy but I have sold 20 or so items as well.
You must be carefull both ways. I have been taken twice. Once I bought a product (used) that did not work and no refund would be given. The other was a $1000.00 laptop. Long story but eventually I got the laptop.
Just be carefull,

| | Re: angry If you deal with enough people in life, eventually you'll get cheated or burned. It doesn't matter whether you buy or sell on ebay, at yard sales, flea markets, shopping centers or malls. Human nature is a "me first" thing; everybody suffers from human nature and some had no moral training to help them see above it. It's not ebay's fault. It's that selfish nature, one person thinking only about what's in it for them. Do unto others as you'd have done unto you, not before others do unto you. Don't stoop to their level.
I've bought literally hundreds of things, mostly tools, off ebay, sold there too...been burnt maybe twice. I've been burnt more times than that at the grocery store! On price, quality, misleading advertising and the list goes on.
I figure it's their personal problem, what goes around comes around, and I'm temporary on this earth so it wasn't really "my" money anyway...though I try to hang onto it as best I can!
Do what you can to expose a thief, but don't let it ruin your today and especially not your tomorrow. Life's too short!

| | Re: angry Hi Ho,
The Blockbuster near us will have big sales to slim down their inventory. (usually previously owned videos). This person probably got it from there pretty cheap and just resold it.
I recently got burned on Ebay too. A woman bid on one of my Santas and never paid, despite 3 emails telling her I'd be happy to work with her if there was a problem. After alot of consideration, I decided not to do anything about it. (the Santa was only a mini selling for $20.50). Problem is, despite my having a very good reason for giving her negative feedback, she could always turn around and do the same thing to me out of spite. To me, it wasn't worth the headache to fight for such a small amount of money. So I sent her a final email telling her the debt was forgiven and to consider it an early Christmas present and that I wouldn't give her negative feedback (she actually had very good feedback) She never responded once, not even to this. I don't want my Santas going to creeps anyway!
