| | Re: Wood bird door knocker Just old Dave. The knocker isn't very detailed. Rather a simple one. I made a couple of them actually. I find, that lots of times it is as easy to cut out two of something as one. You have the tools and everything ready. Thanks all for the positive remarks. |

| | Re: Wood bird door knocker That's what I was thinking too, Hugh ..... "One DAY ?? That's a typo ... he meant one WEEK."
It takes me a day to find the chunk of wood I want to draw on a pattern.
No wonder the things you do more slowly are so magnificent.
And being old is no excuse ... I'm old too, not fast. |

Is that the pattern that was on the accents in pine web page???????????????
I do like it and I am going to try and make 1 after the first of the year.
Will take me longer than a few hours to make it though.
For me painting it will take longer than anything
I hate to paint |

Yup, that is the address that Mothy posted. Wayne I modified mine a little. Used screws to hold it together #10 1 1/4 " to hold the side pieces. Left the dowel float free until after it was painted. If you make it for a door bell, just cut out a notch 1/2 the length of your door bell button, position the bird over the button, and put the screws to it. Three 2", #10 screws to hold it on the house. Figured the kids might get a kick out of pulling the string.(two children came over tonite and rang the door bell)

Not sure if I want it on the outside
or on the inside on the bathroom door
might be a good conversation item on the inside bathroom door |
