Default Western Tanagers

Finished my pair of Western Tanagers today. Still have some finish work, but will let the paint cure a bit.

Thx all.

Mark - the needles are made from 20 ga copper wire. I had to flatten it a bit to match up with real Lodgepole Pine needles and then shape the points and edges. Also soldered each needle pair together and used a bit of texture paste to mimic the little sheath at the base of each bundle.

What a lovely piece! I had one of those at my bird feeder this summer and that is first time I'd seen one. Beautiful rendition of a beautiful little bird.
