This was supposed to be a quick study after reading Cipa's "Fantasy and Legend figures in wood" but it's turning into a bigger project than I had intended. Had to revert to my old indestructables after my new gouge cratered on me.

It's hard to tell by the pic but I've spent quite a bit of time on this lately. I had to revert to modeling compound around the head as this wood doesn't behave well on details. (ran into voids and cracks). I'm headed south for some sun and sand so this will be it for awhile.
