My sister-in-law is a cat fancier, so I carved this one for her.

Good job! What kind of wood is that and are those glass eyes? I am working on a pair of butternut cats for my niece. It is hard to get that "kitty" face down. My cats won't sit still to co-operate at all. Jim |

I bet she's going to love it! It's great! Like the style you have going to. Thanks for sharing! Krum

Thanks for all the positive reinforcement!! The members of this board are the best!! Canopener - The cat is carved in basswood and the eyes are painted and coated with Treasure Crystal Coat by Plaid. I have to give credit to Donna T for helping me with the eyes - Thanks!!Ice Cream I used Google images to search for photos of cats to use as a model for the face. Mike

Mik, Donna good tip on the eyes. I checked out glass eyes and they are kind of expensive. Googled some cat pics, but mine still won't co-operate. Looked down one night and one of them was rolling in wood chips and getting ready to go back inside the house to roll on the carpet. UmHmmm. Jim |
