Smile Spruce Grouse, WIP-09

Spruce Grouse, mating plumage, tupelo. Ready for sealing and paint.
The breast feathers are hi relief, although the photo dosen't show it.

Geez Hugh, even without the painting, he looks like he could jump right out of the monitor screen and run across the room! Great job! Please post the painted finished piece. Can't wait to see it!

WOW! now this is quite a work of art. I am always amazed at how carved wildlife can be so life like....amazing....
WOW....and it is still a WIP can't wait to see it done....it just blows my mind...

Great job Hugh, you have clean lines, feathers cupped, even consistant burning, correct feather patterns, and you have caught the essence of the grouse. I want to be able to carve as well as you do when I grow up! God bless, Dick
