Default Southeastern Wildlife Expositon

Anybody out there going to Charleston, SC in Feb.?
I use to go every year to get my annual dose of inspiration but due to circumstances I haven't been for years. However, I am planning to go this year.
For those of you who don't know, the SEWE is the largest wildlife art and nature event in the U.S. The highlight for me though, is the wood carving
venue. This year they are presenting the works of 16 featured carvers, including Rosalyn Daisy and Ernie Muehlmatt. In the past there were many carving supply vendors selling their wares also. Both the Busch Wildlife Sanctuary and the International Center for Birds of Prey will be doing live shows throughout.
The dates for this year's event are Feb. 15,16 and 17, 2008. More specific information is available on the web at www.sewe.com.
Hope to see some of you there.
Mike

Take some deep pockets! My wife and I had planned to celebrate our 45th there but found that accomodations were a little above our price range.

Eddy, you're right, lodging is expensive there, especially in the historic downtown area and during the SEWE when there are some 35,000 visitors in town. It's not a problem for me though, since I live within a two hour drive.
You might try some of the surrounding towns for cheaper rates, such as Summerville, Moncks Corner, Mount Pleasant, North Charleston, etc. Check Travelocity and other internet sites for rates. These towns are all within 20 minutes or less of Charleston. Be sure to ask for the seniors rate.
Hope you are able to work something out and congratulations on your 45th.
My wife and I celebrated our 45th. last July.
Mike
