Default Sleeping Avocet Smoothie

I just finished up a smoothie sleeping avocet. My first smooth carving and my first shorebird...
I sorta documented the painting process start to finish...
Sleeping American Avocet
My photos are formatted too big for the Gallery here, hence the link....:-)

Thanks for looking!

Thumbs up Re: Sleeping Avocet Smoothie

In my dreams only, to be able to paint like that. Beautiful carving and painting both. Great way to start the day with such an inspiration. Thanks for posting.

Hugh and Hi_Ho...THANK YOU very much...it was an experimental piece for me (first totally smooth bird), and I learned a few things...I think I'm going to use less texture and more paint effects on my future carvings. See if I can reach a happy medium....
