Default Shoveler Duck

my first Smoothie, carved in lime, painted with acrylic paints, this was a big learning curve for me...I thought that being a wildlife artist ,the painting would be easy....how i was wrong, painting on wood is much harder...mark

Wow! That's a gorgeous piece of art! I'm attracted shovelers due to the bill and the great plummage, but have yet to carve one. You've really done a nice job on this guy. It's heartening to hear you say the painting on the carved piece is challenging vs. flat work. I certainly find it challenging...but, then, I have no experience to compare it to. :-)

Thx for sharing your work.

Mark,
Pretty decoy. The painting is really well done. I can appreciate the painting on that bird as I have done two myself and spent an unbelievable amount of time on the painting process. Thanks for sharing
Bob
