Default Saw Whet Owl

I finally finished the Saw Whet Owl I was working on. I entered it in the Canadian Woodcarving Championships last week and it took a first in the novice birds of prey.

I also entered my Robin. After reading comments from Kenny and Hugh in my gallery I thought that maybe it had a chance. I've seen Hugh's birds and I thought that if he thinks this is good, maybe it is!!! It ended up winning a second place ribbon. Thanks Hugh.

I'm quite pleased for you. Be sure to frame those ribbons. They are hard come by, and well deserved. Congratulations.

Nice work Saw Wet's are my favorite Owl. My seven year old daughter gets a kids wildlife magazine that has a great picture of some Saw Wet Owls I was eyeing it just yesterday thinking they may make a nice relief carving some day.
