Default Ring-tail Lemur done !

Well here he is. Again I am not thrilled with it. Wonder if I'll ever do anything that I think, wow? He is life sized. 15 inches from nose to butt. The tail is 18 inches. The whole carving is 22 inches tall.

Well, Nancy, I'll say WOW! considering that it's life sized, your own design and all that fur to deal with, it's a definite wow! We tend to be our own worst critics, but others see the work as reaaly good or even great.

When you said you were not happy with it, that made me look immediately for what you thought was wrong, not the overall effect. DON"T DO THAT! I want to see what's good about a piece, not parse it out for errors. By the way, I really didn't find any.

Al

Nancy I agree with Al completly dont tell us you are not happy with the carving. Nancy I am very seldom happy with any carving I do but I dont tell my customers that. Every time I do a tree carving or a commission all I get are Wow's and Oh's and "You are so talented". If you tell someone that you are not happy with it they will as we all do by nature look for the flaws. Now the flaws we think we see are maybe not the ones you see. Nancy I love the carving and the painting I am impressed that it is life size. Great piece of art as usual, I also dont see what you are not happy about.

Nancy that is amazing. I too, will ignore your statement that you are not pleased with it. It's little hands are so real looking. I think your base really presents him well. The fur and paint is something I can't imagine improved upon. He looks like he might jump off the rocks.
Wonderful sculpture. You should be very proud.
I love the fact that it is a lemur. Never seen one of those before.
Thanks for showing it to us.
Thor
