Default Red Tailed Hawk

I'm new to this so hopefully this works... Anyway here is a picture of the carving I am currently working on. It is a red-tailed hawk. I just wanted some opinions etc.
(hopefully the pictures come through!!)

I guess they didn't go. How do you post pictures?

One way to do it is to right click on the picture you want to post and select "Resize Pictures" , I usually select "small (640 x 480)" and that will reduce the file size. Scroll down to "Attach Files" and click "Manage Attachments" then a new window will open, Click "Browse" and find your resized picture, click on that and click "upload"

That's how I do it but others may have a different and easier way.

Happy Trails
Bill

Carver93, I love birds of prey. By the looks of it you're off to a great start on this one. Can't wait to see the finished bird.

Nice beginning on the hawk. Looking forward to seeing it progress. Good luck.

Carver93, You have a really good start there. Check out my website for some additional reference if you like. We could even talk off line if you wish.

It would be a shame for everyone to possibly miss out on a question and answer session on carving birds. I'm sure many here might have the same questions and would like to see the responses and resolutions to these problems you might have.
The reason I say this is I have read with great interest comments you ( falconer) and others have made about this site,,and members here that might be of interest to others who follow this site. I'm sure many would be interested as well as informed by your "openminded" insights into carving.
I would be more than happy to provide links to those insights and comments to share with everyone as they might prove revealing and informative.

Is the red tail in the perching position with wings down or in flight wings and tai spread?
