Question purple martin

I am now carving a purple martin. I know that the male is a irindesent dark glossy purplish/black. You guys helped me out on the indigo bunting a few weeks back which won me a blue ribbon 1st place. So now any suggestions on the purple martin painting? I have been trying some mixes, and some are pretty close. So thank you all for any help and "tips"
Errol

ok I finally got the paint mix right or it seems really close. I have tried several different mixes and will try it on a piece of scrap basswood. anyone interested in painting a purple martin in the future you can e-mail me for the combination of mixes . I will be painting the carving after the test , thanks

Hi Errol - just got back from a week's business trip with no access to email, and just reading this thread now. I don't have a good "recipe" for painting a purple martin, but would love to see the finished project if you're willing to post it. I always look forward to seeing your work!

Mark
