Can't seem to get my mind off of these board ducks, I started this Red-Breasted Merganser last wednesday and put the final coat of Deft on today, it's 7.5" tall x 6.25" wide x 11.5" long and was carved from a 3/4" select pine board then stained with Minwax and clear coated with Deft Satin. I have enough pine to do the Fulvous Whistling Duck to go with the one I made from a Poplar board........it's back to the scroll saw ![]() HappY Trails Bill ^v^ |

Nice job, Bill. I always enjoy seeing your work. I might have to try doing something using flat boards like that. I have a few pieces of poplar that would work out well. Ed

Thanks for sharing. I have plenty of pine so will give it a try. Getting hold of patterns is my main problem. Anyone have any ideas on where to look. Kind regards, Barrie

Hi Bill, Another great duck you've done here. I think this one is my favorite. Great style in both your carving and the work you've done with the stain. Are the points on the breast burned in? They look great! The photo of the "real" merg is a beauty, too! I'm guessing you took it?! Mark |
