Default Painted Bunting
The painted bunting is life size 6", carved in basswood and oil painted....irridescent colors added.

Beautiful work! I've never seen one of these...all we have around here are the indigo buntings, but even then, you have that irridescence down just right.

Thanks for the comments on the carving.

I should have mentioned I saw the Painted Bunting in the Wildfowl Carving Magazine, fall issue 2005, pattern by Jean Minaudier. There were five pages of excellent photos of the bird that made carving a must.
