Ron, you were writing while I was sending my last response.

It is basswood. the edges are 1/16" and the thickest part of the quill is 1/8"

This used to be a regular part of the competition at the Worlds. You had a hard time figuring out which one was real and which one was carved as they were displayed side by side.

Steve, that's a fine lookin feather and I'm sure any owl would be proud to wear it should he need a new one.
