Hey, don't throw in the towel yet!!! Finish roughing out the bird and cutting in the wing areas. A live Kestrels breast is flatter than you might think. Your last resort would be adding more wood, don't panic!! Floyd "always" adds extra wood in his patterns cause he knows that that some people have never carved a Kestrel before. Hang in there and stay the course!! If you have any more questions , I would be glad to help!! Some photos might help as well. My email is below.

Thanks falconer, I've put this on the back burner for a while. I did some other faster projects and now I've got a few requests for some of those. I'll get back on it soon and I might email you. I did continue from where I thought I had messed up and it is going to be fine. I just started to panic a little prematurely. I think I will need to get a better idea of what size to make it. It actually looks a little big right now but I am still in the beginning stages.

Well, I will try to help you with anything you need. Try to get some photos as that will help greatly. If there's one thing I've learned on this carving journey, is to never panic, step back take a deep breath and relax. I've had times where I just had to go fishing or something to get away from it for awhile. Normally, when I come back to it, I have a better understanding of the situation and see it differently and everything works out fine. So just hang in there friend, it will all work out when your ready!! Email me anytime, I am always available to help someone. Take care
