A good lesson for all artists to maintain the right to display (as in shows) or copy (as in prints) etc their work. I sold a painting with the stipulation, I retained the right to make prints in the future should I decide to do so, there was no problem with the purchaser.

I also made this stipulation/request Sliver and the guy agreed completely. But once they get it in their possession and seemingly change their mind what are you going to do? Take them to court to get them to release it to you if you should want? Not I. More apt to just chalk it up to the fact that some people will work with you and some won't. But thanks for the reply!

Well if you got it in writing, I would knock on his door, if you didn't you are probably out of luck, too many people have little or no honor or integrity and you can't believe a thing they tell you, sorry commentory on our country/world anymore!

I hear ya Sliver. Gentleman's Agreement is all I have but have done business for years this way. How a man keeps his word is the barometer for who he is. Guess I'll just have to carve a better one!
