Hi All Does anyone have any easy patterns or suggestions for carving or chip carving a Newfoundland Dog? Bambi |

Ya...use a really big piece of wood!!! Those dogs are gigantic!!!! Google for pictures of the dog, and a nice setting for a relief carving might be of the dog sitting in a dory or on the dock. They were originally rescue dogs for Newfoundland fishermen, perfect breed for those cold conditions and they love the water. Even considering their size, they make great pets, as they are true gentle giants with kids. Bob

Hi Bob Your answer was excellent it made me chuckle. Yes they are big, we are getting one in February...puppies are 3 weeks old and can hardly wait. Talking Hope your having a good day and when I get one carved or chipped I will be sure and post. Thanks and have a great day. Bambi |

Congratulations!!! That's super Bambi, I hope you are prepared for it! I will be looking forward to seeing pictures for sure! Are you getting a male or female? Those gentle giants make a house a home real fast! Consider burning an image of her/him too! Burnings do a super job on dogs, I love the one I did on my dog. Still haven't finished the carving I began of her yet, but someday. Too many other things drawing my attention. Bob
