Default New carvings

Well--I I hit a few bumps in the road of life the last year and have not been able to get online much, but have finished a few carvings and thought I would post pics.
The first is two chickadees. This is for my brother and his wife for Christmas. The other is two stylized hummingbirds. I have never done a stylized carving, and really enjoyed making these. However, I cannot for the life of me decide how I want to mount them.
thanks for looking
micky

Thanks Bob and Lindy. I really enjoyed making the stylized humminbirds and am planning on trying a small bear and turtle in the stylized motif as well. First I have to finish mom's little hummingbird.
Thanks again for looking and for your kind comments.

Excellent bird carvings. Just a suggestion for mounting the hummers, why not put them with their beaks inside a stylized flower. I bet they would feel right at home stuck into a trumpet flower. However you decide to display them, they will be great.

Micky... Nice work. I love the hummingbirds. In my opinion it takes just as much if not more effort to make a stylized carving look good than it does to do realism. I have difficulty with both so I appreciate your labors. Hope that your road has smoothed out for you!
