The best place to get a pattern for most any bird, Gordon Stiller Wildlife Patterns for Carvers - StillerPatterns.com , this will take you to their site. The patterns are inexpensive, and they ship quickly. Hope this helps.

I agree with Hugh P. Stiller is the way to go, Their pattern #580 is a goldfinch. Actually it has a perching and flying bird on the sheet.
