Default my very first carving

be gentale, this is my very first carving. I know zip about knifes, and sharpening. and joined a guild. to see how to carve. they all was so nice. and started me out on my first piece. first I had to carve the handales on my knifes, then do a Otter. ...... HEHE. well this is my Otter rat. but it was fun. I did learn alot on this first one. bet you have been there done that. thanks for looking ,. Evie

The first carving is the most important, keep hold of it..
Just my take on it, but I've done this as a measure of where my carving is going.

For me being best is not on the cards. However I achieve my aim, enjoyment. That , for me is the name of the game.

Evie, I think you did a great job on yer otter for your first carving. I'm sorry he died on you. I see the last picture where the poor little bugger's on his back, looks like he died on you. (smile)
