Al - that turtle's just super, but I still like my crawdad more. How about I take its picture the next time I have the camera out & put it up for the gang to see? OK?

Yeah, why doesn't she? Huh? We want to see more, more, more. Got your tools in your pocket so you can carve in the woods?

Great turtle, Al. I intend to carve both a turtle and a frog someday, hope I can do half as good a job as you did on that turtle! Great work, thanks for sharing! Callynne

Nancy, if you want to put up 'Ole Crawdaddy', be my guest! I have a pic of it some where around here, on disk, but I cant find it. Carved a few others but used my cheapo little digital and close-ups don't fare well color wise.

I don't know how you carve a turtle or a frog!!! How do you get the little suckers to stand still!

You can't really get them to stand still, but by driving a nail through one foot, they can only walk (hop) around in circles. That way you can carve Â*them 'in the round'!!!

After you pull the nail out, you can do them again, as they are now 'in relief'!!!!!!!!

Looks great Al.
We've had that CRAYFISH (we all know it's a crawdad) of yours for a couple of years now and we're still in AWE.

Actually, when we were kids we called 'em CRABS, until we got what we thought was a pretty uppity fifth grade teacher who insisted we call them crayfish, as crabs were salt water buggers. But then again, she also made us call the local creek, a krick.......oh, well, call the critter whatever ya like!
Them crabby crayfish can still nip ya pretty good with their crawdad pincers!
