Default My loon

WEll - here it is. I've just got into carving - started in October, 2005 after a friend of mine expressed a desire to learn how to carve birds. I told her - let's just go for it.

This loon is a project bird - that is a result of taking a class from Harvey Welch - a local master bird carver.

Oh boy, your loon is really nice and even more because you are new to carving. Excellent!

Welcome and awesome. What a great step-up to carving. Your teacher must be incredibly talented. I look forward to seeing more of your work.

Wow! I think birds are the most difficult to get "real". You did it. great job.

He is half size. And I have been incredibly lucky/blessed as the carvers in our community (aren't they all the same?!?) have been so open and helpful....and yes - Harvey is incredibly talented and a great teacher.
