Default My little stylized sea turtle

Since I often refer to the fact that I seldom complete a project here is one that I did.

I gave it to my son who asked for it a while it was still in the vise.

It's basswood with a couple of different colors of tinted Liberon wax.

I like the way the dark wax came out all splotchy. It gives a more natural look to it; if not more like a turtle at least more like colors found in nature. The difference between natural hair color and dyed hair. The natural is a blend of colors, the dye more like solid paint.

Now that I look at it, this turtle has been working out or is on turtle-enhancing drugs because those front flippers are unaturally large! :-)

Hi Russ,

Very nice. As for the flippers, it is stylized.

RussL,
I really like your turtle. I have never considered carving a tutrle before but I just think I might give it a try sometime.

thanks for completing and sharing this one with us and I also like the affects of the two stains.

Safe Carving and God Bless,

Mark

Very nice project and I too love the natural finish that you achieved with the wax. Thanks for sharing this one!
