Wow Paul, nice work!
(I think the finish is perfect!)
I am truly amazed and inspired at all that I see here within these pages.
I love the detail that you brought out in his facial features and the way the fur lies. Did you do this by hand or use a power tool?
I have learned already, even though I am just starting, that carving is not a race and to enjoy the time that you have with each piece. A project is never really "done", because you can always find one more lil thing to tweak ... on the next one.
Be safe, keep it simple & sharp!
Margo

Hello everybody. Thank you all for the nice replies I really appreciate them.

For kimschance/Margo: I'm amazed at all the beautiful work others post on this forum too. I also agree with you that they are so inspiring sharing their pics and time.

To answer your question, I used hand tools and a foredom. My new friend that gave me direction and help on this fox is an outstanding power carver who is self taught. He has taken his time to give me pointers, tips, and lots of direction.

He is a very generous friend who I really appreciate. I met him by accident one day at Menards last summer. Things happen for a reason! Best regards to all. Paul

Paul, you said you are practicing to be a carver. I think this fox is outstanding and you are for sure a carver and a good one at that!
