Default my first owl carving

Hi everyone. I started carving in dec.07 ,and I am having a great time.
Just wanted to share my first OWL,and my second try at a eagle. Still working on that one.

Radrob, having just started in Dec. I would say you are comming along very well, you certainly are creative. I'm not quite sure how you did the owl but it sure is interesting.

Thanks, I used a chainsaw to carve it. 3 hours total. Now i need to find some eyes for it. Or mabey i will just paint them on. I was thinking about painting the whole thing,but i am not to confident in my painting skills.
not sure what is wrong with my eagle. Its just not quite right.

Radrob, welcome to the forum and your carving journey!! There are alot good folks here with lots of good ideas. Regarding your eagle, take a look at my website and you'll find some pretty good reference for a eagle. After you study the reference I think you'll see what you need to change and I'll be more than glad to answer any questions regarding the carving.
