Tammy that's a superb first carving. You obviously have a great eye and inherent skills. I too have trouble with beaks - til I learned to do them first. Once satisfied, it seems the rest of the bird comes together nicely. Can't wait to see your next creation!

not laughing...but looking for real close-up definition in your feathers, the surface differences in feathers of wings, head, and material of the beak. Keep it up...you could really flourish. Think of details as the magnetic 'hold' of the viewer.
