"...takes longer than anticipated ... for the female"!!!

Texturing.....sounds a lot like applying makeup and probably takes as long!!!

I know a lot of duck carvers who have been carving for 20 years who would be proud to claim that as one of theirs.

I can't think of anything more to add to the comments except that your carving is prettier than a real duck. Thanks for showing it, and I too hope you do well in the competition.
