Default Mountain Bluebird

I am interested in locating a supplier of a Mountain Bluebird study casting. If anyone knows of a source, please let me know.

Thanks,

Jim

Click on www.sugarpinewoodcarving.com or better yet call them at 1-800-452-2783 and talk to them. I believe if they don't have it an Eastern bluebird will be exactly the same except for the painting. If not it will be so close only a bird could tell the difference and probably no carver can carve the difference either.

Hi Jim,

I'm trying to carve a bluebird too but after reading Lori's book on songbirds I think mine is going to be a bluebird decoy. lol

The reference cast I ordered from Chipping away took 28 days for delivery and measures 5.5" from tip of beak to tip of tail but lori's Mountain Bluebird is 7" and so was my cut-out. I carved the beak and tail first but that turned out to be a big mistake because a few slips of the knife cost me half of the tail and all of the beak but I still had enough wood left to carve a 5.5" bird so it worked out fine for me.

Quality Wood Carving Supply has a study cast (don't know if it's full size or not)
but you may want to call first if you decide to order from them.

This is part of an e-mail I received on 11/04/2005 after I placed an order.
"We regret to inform you Richard C. Watson recently past away.
He is well know for his passion for fishing, love of the arts and the great outdoors.
The carving world knew him best for his kindness and ever supportive nature
in sharing his professional knowledge of carving with his many fellow carvers.
He will be greatly missed by those who knew him.
Richard C. Watson 1937 ~ 2005
We are taking every step and hope to continue providing the service Richard "Dick" Watson has offered his fellow carvers in the future.
The only way I am able to process orders at this time is thru payment by checks made payable to Richard C. Watson for purchases. "
