Default making leaves

I remember a few yrs back in a magazine how to make leaves using grocery paper bags. I think after cutting out that they were wetted, then burn on low setting with a burning pen. Does anyone know the procedure for this? info would be greatly appreaciated. thanks, Errol

I cut them out of the heavy brown paper, curled them so they looked realistic, took a tool and pressed in the viens, cut some holes in them then soaked them with a good lacquer. Made them almost like a pliable plastic.

I've never done this myself, but watched a guy burn small holes in his paper leaves, made it look like bugs had been at work on them. He also pressed in the viens like Mark does.

I'm going to try Marc's method, sounds great. Errol the brown paper bag article is the way I have done it for some time, and that is cut out the leaf, pencil in the vein lines, soak it in a yellow glue and water mixture, let it dry, dampen it again, using your burning pen on low trace over the penciled in vein lines, cut out the holes you want, bend the leaf to shape and let it dry. But to be honest, the way marc does it sounds much easier.
