Default Looking for warbler pattern

Hi Everyone,

I noticed that WI Issue 33 had included a pattern for a Black-throated blue warbler and I wondered if anyone might have kept a copy that they might share with me. Thank you.

Carl,

Thanks! I'm pretty new to carving only relief so far and this was to be first attempt at in the round. Was hoping someone might be able to scan theirs and email me direct. Have one for White-throated sparrow which I may use but thought the other might finish more attractive.
Cheers

Hello Kayakjockey, I'm currently working on a Black Throated Blue Warbler from my own pattern. I'll post some photo's of work in progress but he has progressed a lot since these where taken. If your interested I can send you a PDF of the pattern.

I was looking for info on making birds feet and thats how I joined this site....pretty great stuff here, lots of information and great people who are willing to help.

Hi Blackjaxe
Thank you for posting your drawings and photos for warbler. I had let my subscription lapse and only just signed on again which is why I'm just seeing your post now. I'm guessing its probably done by now. How did it turn out? Just started my first in the round, a stylistic Green heron also plan to try burning some feather detail.
Cheers

Here is a source for bird patterns. I haven't tried any. If you do, let me know if they are any good.

Hi Jockey.....Take a look at the next series of pages and you should be able to find my W.I.P on the warbler.... As mentioned previously I made my own pattern.

Ken,

Found your photos, it looks great. Maybe I'll get around to trying one myself!

Dan,
I did a bison from one of their patterns and I was happy with it.

Ken,

Just a follow up on the warbler. See at url below
Picasa Web Albums - Doug - Carving#
I used your pattern but should have paid more attention to your photos as I realised my cut out was not going to be quite right for a BTB so after consulting my field guide I opted for a Kentucky. I was using pewter feet which don't bend well(next time i'll try making my own) so thought something that spends a lot of time on the ground would be good. I still plan to have another go at it sometime; hopefully i've learned something from this try. Thanks again.

Doug
p.s. I used tupelo which was difficult to carve, next time I'll try power carving. What did you use for the BTB?
