I carved a Parrot several years ago, and I got a pattern from Gordon Stiller and went from there. I see you do a fine job on your dekes. So my suggestion is to get a pattern and reference photos (like the google suggestion from above) and start letting the wood fly. Good luck.

If it will help any??? I have a green cheeked conure, he is the smallest of the parrot family but the proportions are the same all the way up to the macaws. If you need me to take some photos??? I can uplaod them to photobucket and make them available to everyone???? Let me know what "poses" directionality, etc....he likes to cuddle in my hand with his feet in the air, I think he is an exhibitionist at heart... ![]() holler...

You guys were so right. I did find a pattern but had to adjust it so much to have the look I was looking for. ![]() Due to health, have not been able to finish but will post the finish piece here later this year. The replies have been very helpful. Thanks to all of you for your help.

Does he have to carve green wood to get that 'look?" Here are 3 used book sites to search: abeBooks.com (100% satisfied with them) bookfinder.com (friends use it) thriftbooks.com (friends use it.) |
