| | Re: Jaguar is painted I'm late coming in on this thread, so the best I can do is offer an echo of everything everyone else has already said. Great piece of art.
Oh yea, maybe next, you could do something without spots, like a Zebra or a Tiger, lol.
Really, I think your paint job is beautiful. The eyes are haunting. |

| | Re: Jaguar is painted I haven't been on the message board for a long time and I saw your leopard so I had to respond. They look good! I also carve animals, but in 3-D. One thing that I do which really makes the eyes POP is to apply a thin coat of two part epoxy glue over the eyes. The 5 minute stuff works great. When it dries it looks like you have used glass eyes. You may be able to see this on my website. Wildlife Woodcarver - Home - original handcarved wildlife Your leopards are great so my comment is not meant as if they need anything, but just as something to try sometime. Jim |

| | Re: Jaguar is painted Jim, thank you for the tip. After the photo was taken I applied a high gloss sealer to the eyes. I will get some epoxy and try that.
The carvings on your website are gorgeous. |

| | Re: Jaguar is painted Joy, you have a wonderful keepsake there, I would never let that piece out of my sight if it was mine, it is truly a work of art, the painting is remarkable, the cats eyes are absolutely alive. Thank you for sharing.

| | Re: Jaguar is painted Thank you so much, Cliff. Yes, I am going to keep this one. I thought at first I would give it to my daughter to go with the elephant I gave her last year....but I couldn't part with it. Joy | | Thread Tools | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode |
