| | Re: Jaguar is painted Thank you, Skip. I'm very glad you like it. I'm glad I have you guys to boost my ego. I showed this to a neighbor today and she said, "That's nice" and changed the subject.....
Oscar, you can paint like I do....just paint on any color then add a different color to the same pot and dab that on....etc. Keep looking at it to find what doesn't please you. I think the real trick is not being afraid to make a mistake...everything is fixable.
Doris, you are very welcome. I'm sure you could make something similar to display your work.
Thank you, Gene. You are a 10+ for sure.

| | Re: Jaguar is painted Joy,
You hit the nail right on the head. I hate showing my carvings to non-carvers (well, some carvers, too). They glance at it, say, "Hey, that's nice," and start talking about something else.
When I see carvings, I like to study them and see how different it is than what I would do, how it was designed, the carving approach, presentation, colors, everything.
I have a friend who was a carver, now into clay, who does exactly that, a quick glance, "Nice job" and on to tell me about his latest. I think he's jealous because my stuff looks better than his stuff. Neh, neh, neh, neh, neh, neh.
That's another reason I love it here. |
