I'm late coming in on this thread, so the best I can do is offer an echo of everything everyone else has already said. Great piece of art.
Oh yea, maybe next, you could do something without spots, like a Zebra or a Tiger, lol.
Really, I think your paint job is beautiful. The eyes are haunting.

MA, burning and carving is not the same as playing with matches and knives.

I haven't been on the message board for a long time and I saw your leopard so I had to respond. They look good! I also carve animals, but in 3-D. One thing that I do which really makes the eyes POP is to apply a thin coat of two part epoxy glue over the eyes. The 5 minute stuff works great. When it dries it looks like you have used glass eyes. You may be able to see this on my website. Wildlife Woodcarver - Home - original handcarved wildlife Your leopards are great so my comment is not meant as if they need anything, but just as something to try sometime. Jim

Jim, thank you for the tip. After the photo was taken I applied a high gloss sealer to the eyes. I will get some epoxy and try that.

The carvings on your website are gorgeous.

Joy, you have a wonderful keepsake there, I would never let that piece out of my sight if it was mine, it is truly a work of art, the painting is remarkable, the cats eyes are absolutely alive. Thank you for sharing.

Thank you so much, Cliff. Yes, I am going to keep this one. I thought at first I would give it to my daughter to go with the elephant I gave her last year....but I couldn't part with it. Joy
